CHECKLIST FOR THE TRANSPORT AND HANDLING OF REFRIGERATED FOOD

chilled packaging

Parameters to be observed during transport:

  • Let's ensure the transport conditions for the transport vehicles. It is important to have the adequate cooling capacity and hygiene.
  • Make sure that the cargo compartment has been pre-cooled to the desired temperature.
  • Measure the cargo compartment temperature and record it (it must be measured before and after storage)
  • Measure the temperature of the goods to be transported and record it. If the product protective packaging allows, measure the core temperature!
  • Note the cargo size and the number of goods stored in the cargo area.
  • When storing, consider the tour route, as the order of goods in the refrigerated vehicle must be arranged according to the unloading.
  • We record the time of loading and departure.

Parameters to be observed at distribution warehouses:

  • Let's organize the order of arrival of the refrigerated flights and prepare for the expected arrivals.
  • Sufficient cooling capacity should always be available for incoming goods.
  • We check the cold storage's temperature, capacity and hygiene at every delivery.
  • We check the temperature of the incoming car's cargo area and the incoming goods' temperature (if possible, also the core temperature!). In case of any discrepancy, note the facts. If the temperature exceeds the error limit, re-cooling the goods is impossible!
  • Note down the parameters of the incoming shipment (product, weight, packaging, temperature, time)
  • Make sure that products requiring normal cooling are delivered between 0C° and +4C°, while goods requiring deep cooling are delivered below -18C° (-22C° in the case of ice creams).
  • When storing, ensure loading according to Fifo principles.
  • We store incoming goods as soon as possible.

The last stop for refrigerated goods in trade: the point of sale

  • Fix the expected arrival date of the goods in advance.
  • We record the parameters of the incoming goods (temperature, time, etc.) and then store them in the refrigerated space as soon as possible.
  • Let's ensure we have received the goods listed on the delivery note.
  • Check that the product packaging i.e, chilled packaging has not been damaged during delivery
  • Record the expiration date of the incoming goods in our system and ensure that they are stored so that goods with an earlier expiration date, which may be in stock, are sold sooner.
  • We optimize receipts so that the fastest possible turnover of the products in the cold room is ensured.
  • The goods should be taken out of the cold store and into the sales refrigerator in the fastest possible time
  • In all cases, keep quality, hygiene and product safety in mind during cold storage

Refrigerated trucks for efficient refrigerated logistics

As a company that manufactures refrigerated superstructures, we know an efficient and economical freezer car is essential for refrigerated transport and part of professional refrigerated logistics. For example, today, we can not only talk about a simple bread delivery car when a bakery asks us for an offer but also the freezer box refrigerator superstructure and the high-performance Carrier cargo cooling equipment have entered the goods transport dictionary of bakeries.
